The KR501 Fingerprint Control Board is designed for secure and efficient access control. It supports up to 20 fingerprints and operates on a power supply range of DC 3.7-10V. With a stand-by mode current between 2.5-7 uA and a working current of 40-250mA, it ensures low power consumption. The output is a high-level signal lasting 1 second at 3.3V-500mA. Compact in size, the control board measures 36mm in diameter.
Operation Instruction
After the fingerprint is passed, the OUT1 pin outputs a signal with a voltage of 3.3V and a current of 500ma for 1 second. In the initialization state, any fingerprint can pass through. 1. Register Fingerprint: Long press the registered fingerprint(In initial state press any fingerprint), until the blue indicator light turn on and hearing music, means the system in register state, press the finger with multiple times in fingerprint collection area, each press have “di” sound, until hearing music means fingerprint register successful. Fingerprint can be registered continuously when system in register state; if no need adding fingerprint more, waiting a few seconds. Note: In the initialization state, must have to register more than 2 correct fingerprints for the first time, then the system can be removed from the initialization state. 2. Delete Fingerprint(Back to initialization state): 2.1 Long press the registered fingerprint, until the red indicator light turn on,means all fingerprints are deleted and back to initialization state. 2.2 Use INIT_KEY pin. In the standby state, make the INIT_KEY pin ground connection, until the red indicator to turn on, hear the “Di-” sound, disconnect the grounding, the indicator turns green, means all fingerprints are deleted and back to initialization state.

Features:

  1. Supports up to 20 fingerprints
  2. Wide power supply range (DC 3.7-10V)
  3. Low stand-by mode current for power efficiency
  4. High-level output signal (3.3V-500mA)
  5. Compact design with a diameter of 36mm
  6. Reliable for secure access control

Package Includes:

1 x KR501 Fingerprint Control Board

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
