Pro-Range 10mm NPN Inductive Proximity Sensor RM30 DC6~36V (Shielded) is a brand new inductive proximity sensor that detects a metal object. Flush-style sensors actually have a shield that restricts the magnetic field so that it only radiates out of the face of the sensor.

This M30 indicates a cylinder type whose diameter is 30mm and the length of cylinder 58mm. The operating voltage range is VDC 6~36V, but the nominal voltage is 30V with detecting distance of 10mm. The sensor has 3 wire NO (Normally open) type output with RED LED indicator.

The Inductive Proximity Sensor application:

  1. Mine metallurgy.
  2. Plastics, textile and Chemical Industry.
  3. Light industry, tobacco, electric power, railway, and war industry.

Features:

  1. IP67 protection structure (IEC standard).
  2. Compact volume.
  3. High precision of repeated location.
  4. Diversified exterior.
  5. Good performance of anti-interference.
  6. Many output forms.
  7. High on-off frequency.
  8. Wide voltage range.
  9. Dustproof, vibration proof, waterproof and oil proof.
  10. With short-circuit protection and inverted connecting protection.
  11. Long service life.

Package Includes:

1 x Pro-Range 10mm NPN Inductive Proximity Sensor RM30 DC6~36V (Shielded).

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
