The SparkFun Qwiic BMP581 Pressure Sensor is a standard-sized, . absolute pressure sensor breakout from Bosch Sensortec. The BMP581 boasts exceptional resolution (down to 1/64Pa) and accuracy while maintaining on-chip linearization and temperature compensation to provide true absolute data for pressure and temperature. The Qwiic Pressure Sensor communicates over I2C by default, utilizing our handy Qwiic Connect System so no soldering is required to connect it to the rest of your boards. However, we still routed the I2C signals out to a set of 0.1”-spaced pins for users who prefer a soldered connection. You can also configure the board to communicate over SPI using the same 0.1"-spaced pins.

  2. The sensor includes a configurable oversampling setting, FIFO buffer for storing up to 32 pressure samples
  3. This allows you to customize the performance based on your application's requirements.

Setup Guide

Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.

Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.

Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.

Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.

Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
