Winsen Electronics, MC115 adopts catalytic combustion principle, and detects natural gas, LPG, CO and alkanes. MC115 adopts catalytic combustion principle, and its two arms of electric bridge consists of a test element and a compensate element. The resistance of the test element rises once it meets the combustible gases, in the same time, the output voltage of the bridge changes and the voltage variation rises in direct proportion to the gas concentration. The compensate element, as a conference, has the function of compensating temperature and humidity. Applications: It is widely used in industrial occasion to detect the concentration of natural gas, LPG, CO and alkanes. It is also used in combustible gas leakage alarm system, combustible gas detector and gas concentration meter and so on.

Features:

It has good sensitivity to methane in wide range, and has advantages such as long lifespan, low cost and simple drive circuit &etc. The bridge output is linear, quick response, good repeatability and selectivity, good stability, excellent resistance to the interference of H2S gas and organosilicone.

Package Includes:

1 x Winsen MC115 Catalytic Flammable Gas Sensor (1 pair)

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
